Sharing our love for slow food, craft beer, and slow travel. We have documented our travels across the country, and on the farm. We're always good for more antics, as well as some helpful videos. If farmers succeed, we all succeed!

What are the tall poles for?
Dog's not really trying.
Too cute, Zip!! 😍😍
Good zip for trying❤😊
How are the ticks???
The tick population is surprisingly low this year considering how warm the winter was. They all came out and it was bad for a while this Spring, but we had that last cold snap and they have been manageable ever since.
Thank you for sharing. 🙏🏼🦋
Beautiful! This sounds peaceful and relaxing. Where is this?
I could lesson to that all day. Tranquility.
Hello! If there are long periods of rain, for example 4-5 days, and the pasture is soaked, how do we keep the chickens from getting wet and sick while in the chicken tracktor? If we don't have a dry shed built nearby, is there a solution related to the construction of the chicken tracktor?
So cool! Lovely sounds...thank you!
Beautiful
Thank you for sharing this peace.
Hi. I'm not an expert as I started using a scythe only 3-4 years ago. I'd just like to make some comments so you can quickly improve efficiency. Your gesture looks rather good to me. But maybe your blade is not not set up correctly. I looked at slow speed, your video can help yourself in that way... It looks like the tip is maybe too opened ; it should be around 5cm above the heel of the blade. Also the angle between it and the shaft doesn't seem correct, the cutting edge tilts too much upward. You can correct you position or put wedges in the fixture. And focus on keeping the blade to the soil with a bit of downward pressure. Cutting low lawn is the most difficult imho, your technique must be good enought and the blade must be perfectly set up and razor sharp. I'm not sure about the blade you're using (does it came from Dictum ?) but I think this kind needs to be pinned from time to time - it's a skill in itself, not very hard imo but it needs also some practice. For this blades, stones are just to refresh the edges every couple of minutes. The "real" sharpenning is done with the hammer.
Love love love this!! ❤️ thank you Farmer John
Looking good John, bet you felt that the next day. Looks fun but hard work.
I did feel it. Lower back especially. I am still making rookie mistakes. The sharper you keep the tool and the better your form the easier it gets. But I had to start somewhere. If nothing else it’s a good little workout in the AM.
une bonne technique
Spectacular!!!❤
That was pretty goshdarn relaxing!
Looks like a beautiful day!
Look at you getting all conservation :)
Nice bro,👍👍👍
Time lapse turns this into a hummingbird reenactment performance.
Not even a whistle song? :(
Time to invite the beaver over to be dinner guests. Served w/ BBQ sauce.
No no no. Beavers meat tastes bad, really bad.
Thank you, I’m going to actually get off YT shorts now. Been here for too long.
Just curious - what makes the human level of this pond correct vs the beaver level? What would happen if you left the beaver dam in place? It looks like the man made barrier is sufficiently lower than the3 surrounding land so it would not cause any flooding of the properties?
Love this so much! ❤
I keep going back to this!
Great stream for Mini-Hydro-Electric generation! Cheers from the Oil Patch in Central WY
Beautiful...❤
Beautiful FREE LANDS .
That’s a pretty sweet stonewall!
Nobody understands until they've walked those paths. Well done, sir, best to you.
Christ!!!! No wood chopping songs, diddys, reflections. Just heavy breathing ****🌬😘
How are the ticks???
Dude please give us an update on the last 10 years. Still farming? Are still part of the brewery? still doing chickens what's up?
I hope the rest of your family appreciates these as much as I do.
Thank you, Handsome Dad.
Xylem is up, phloem is down. You are correct. Also, when removing invasives, it's good to plant some natives as replacements. Otherwise, nature will fill in the gaps, which tends to be invasives, sadly, as they do like disturbed soil. As this would be a big and expensive task, there's probably some non-profits within your state that can help you do this.
What about some reflections from the road while your walking???
Unbelievable how much water is running through. You could make the whole place a pond… pastured bass? Is that a thing?
I mean, we could definitely make some formidable ponds here. No doubt I could better manage the water with some key line principles. I am not taking it that far. Now I am clearing invasive and creating nature paths.
Looks familiar. and no mud :)
Hey buddddyyyyyyyy! There's plenty of mud in the next video...
Sussy! I'm glad to see you're doing ok. When removing multiflora, be sure to get the root, if you can. It will grow back otherwise. For the older growth that have big stumps, drill a hole into the and pour in some round up or vinegar. Rock salt works too.
Thanks for the tips! I know some is going to grow back. I will go through and manage growth through the year. We’ll see how far I take it.
Multiflora rose, the most invasive species!
you are extraordinary
Why thank you!

Are the posts to deter raptors?
Bruh they are so adorable 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😃👉😻😻😻
Are you finding you have to fertilize less after running them through? I had this same idea and there seems to be very few people tractoring chickens in a hop yard!
How often do you move the chicken tractors?
That’s what I want to know
